WebApril 17, 2024 • Hiking This is just a lengthened version of the Eye of the Sandias Loop trail. If you just want the views, do that one instead. If you want extra distance, do this one. I found the extra northern portion of this to be unnecessary and somewhat unpleasant. Lots of scree, but the views are really great. Andrea Wu WebHi all! My SO and I recently did the Eye of the Sandias Trail. Highly recommend it, we had a blast. We’re looking for similar trails to hike as we are in training for a backpacking trip in several months. We need altitude and elevation training the most, but are having trouble finding trails right now with minimal snow.
