WebOn February 20, 2003 an explosion occurred at the CTA Acoustics facility in Corbin, KY. A combustible phenolic resin powder supplied by Borden Chemical fueled the explosion. 7 people died in this tragedy, and 37 others were injured. The accident began when a fire on the production line ignited a cloud of dispersed dust in the production area.
